Call for Board & Committee Members!
Founded in 2007 by local filmmakers, critics, and educators, the Calgary Cinematheque Society is a non-profit film society dedicated to presenting significant works of cinema year-round from classics and rediscoveries to contemporary world cinema. We believe film is a vital art form best experienced together, and we’re committed to building a vibrant cinema culture in Calgary through thoughtful curation and community engagement.

About the roles:
Board Members:
We’re looking for passionate individuals who support our mission and values, can attend meetings, join committees, and (of course) enjoy our screenings 👀. Ideal board members bring strong communication and teamwork skills, a commitment to act in the organization’s best interests, and a basic understanding of board governance and accountability. We’re especially interested in candidates with experience in finance, real estate, or law.

Secretary Role:
We’re looking for someone organized, detail-oriented, and ready to help keep our board running smoothly. The Secretary plays a key role in maintaining records, preparing meeting minutes, and supporting effective communication within the organization. If you have secretary or administrative experience, we’d love to hear from you!

Programming Committee:
We’re looking for passionate volunteers who love our mission and values, can attend meetings, contribute to projects, and (of course) enjoy our screenings. We’re especially excited to hear from members with fresh perspectives and an interest in film curation, including those with a more academic background or a love for cinema from earlier eras
